Wildhearts

Nowatorski brytyjski kwartet hardrockowy założony w 1991 r. w Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Zespół utworzyli Ginger (śpiew/gitara; eks-Quireboys), Barn Barn (były perkusista Dogs D'Amour), CJ (gitara/śpiew) i Danny (bas). Odrzucając utarte schematy, stworzyli niepowtarzalny collage hard rocka, thrashu i pop ze zgrabnymi, niebanalnymi tekstami.
W ich kompozycjach pobrzmiewały echa dokonań takich grup jak Metallica, Poison, Cheap Trick, Sex Pistols i Kings X. Po związaniu się kontraktem z wytwórnią East West Records, zadebiutowali na początku 1992 r. mini-albumem Mondo Akimbo A-Go-Go. Niestety, nieklarowna produkcja zniszczyła wrażenie, jakie mógł wy wołać doskonały materiał zawarty na krążku.
Znacznie lepiej wypadł wydany w 1993 r. już przez wytwórnię Bronze Records album Earth Ver sus The Wildhearts, ciepło przyjęty w Anglii i określany jako "spotkanie The Beatles z Metalliką oraz The Kinks z The Clash". Promując płytę grupa koncertowała u boku m.in. Manic Street Preachers i The Almighty, a jej nowym perkusistą został w tym czasie Stidi. Wziął on udział w tournee po Anglii i Europie. Na początku 1994 r. Wildhearts nagrali EP-kę "Caffeine Bomb".
